Abstract
MORAN R.J  and CASTILLO-CARRILLO, P.  2002. Morphology
and duration of immature instar Coleomegilla maculata (De Geer, 1775) y Cycloneda sanguinea  Linnaeus, 1763.
This work was performed pre-professional practices in
the laboratory of Entomology, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, National
University of Tumbes, during the months from July to December 2009. With the
objectives: to determine the duration and description of the morphological
aspects of the immature stages of the species C. maculata and C. sanguinea. We proceeded to the raising of the dam, Aphis craccivora, and
the species under study and then determine the variables under study. We found
the following results: The average duration of the egg, larva and pupa in the
laboratory for C. maculata is 2.84; 12 and 3.31 days and 2.82, 10.52, and 3.22
days for C. sanguinea. Eggs are
oviposited in groups and in varying amounts, in a tapered, oval with poles,
without ridges. The eggs of C. maculata have perfect symmetry yellow being the most
widespread and asymmetrical orange for C. blood. Present head and legs black, undershot position, flat on the back, with
chewing mouthparts. Galea presented suture well defined in all its stages,
similar to the Greek letter omega. Oceli have three on each side of head room
arranged in a triangle. Small tri segmented antennae, maxillae developed with
tri segmantados maxillary palps. Jaws strong, chitinized, bidentate,
incisive, typical of carnivores. Tergo tri-segmented thorax with shield-shaped.
Prothorax at its Messala divided by a thin line of colored, with two small
circular spots, yellow near the cephalic margin on each side of the inn for C.
maculata and two large yellow areas of irregular shape in the cephalic margin
on each side of the inn that extend to the pleura pro for C. blood. Mesothorax
and metathorax with two large struma one on each side of the inn., Those of C. maculata are black with germ cell carrying long
black setae, meso-thoracic spiracle with yellow and cuticle of C. sanguinea gray, with small chalaza and mushrooms; meso
thoracic spiracle with dark cuticle. Abdomen with ten segments, so subdepresiva
tergo the first to eighth with four small struma in a transverse row. Two back
and two lateral ridges and in cephalad side eight pairs of spiracles. Fourth
segment of struma lateral, dorsal and lateral dorsal yellow cuticle. The ninth
amended, with its triangular tergo, the tenth visible from ventral aspect, and
has a ring shape. Prepupa form a semicircle with the surface. Pupa exarata type, yellow with dark spots and large
for C. maculata and small spots for C.sanguinea.
Key words: brown planthoopper, Tagosodes oryzicolus  Hemiptera,
Delphacidae.
